✔️ In 1984, Jane Snowball, 72 years old, utilized a device called a Videotex to use her television to order margarine, eggs and cornflakes from her local grocery store via phone lines. The British grandmother paid in cash and accepted the hand delivered groceries. But the transaction didn’t use mainstream technology and Snowball paid for her goods in cash.
✔️ In 1994, Dan Kohn, who creating a website called NetMarket, sold a Sting CD to a friend. Kohn’s friend paid $12.48 plus shipping, and he used data encryption software to send his credit card number securely. It seems the first secure online transaction.
